NH238 is a Supermarine Spitfire Mk HFIXC.

HistoryEdit

One of 368 aircraft built to an order for 600 Mk IX aircraft, submitted to Vickers Armstrong at Castle Bromwhich on 1 December 1942, NH238 was delivered between 24 April and 14 June 1944.[2]

Transferred to the RNAF as H-60 in 1948, the aircraft became H-103 before being passed to the BAF as SM-36 in January 1953. After service with COGEA as OO-ARE, NH238 went to the USA in 1972, gaining civil registration N238V, before returning to the UK as G-MKIX.[3]
